Rules & Regulations

FEES

Fees must be paid in advance for the month. (UPFRONT)
Fees are calculated on a monthly basis. Should you join in the middle of the month you will be billed pro-rata until the new month, you will then be automatically moved over to our MONTHLY RATE.
Fees are loaded on your account every month on the 25TH, for the new month – you have until the 7th of the following month to pay.
Fees must be paid by no later than the 7TH of each month or a R70-00 penalty will be added to your account.
Fees go up annually each year on 1St OCTOBER OR WHEN DEEMED NECESSARY.
Our registration fee is non-refundable and is charged when you join AND every November for the following year registration fee after that.

– Late or non-payment can result in you losing your booked slot until fees are settled.
– EFTs or CASH only.
– NO Cash Deposits (you will be held liable for the bank fees if you do a cash deposit)
– Fees do not change when we are closed or when there are Public Holiday. Our monthly rate takes them into account these therefore no lessons are owed.

– Fees are due January to December unless two (2) month notice is given. (See terminating contract)
– Non-payment will result in us handing your account over to our debt collection team & listed as a default payer on the National Defaulter Database of the Credit Bureaus.
– It is your responsibility to check your account via the Parent Portal
– Stock purchased at any of our pools needs to be paid immediately

 

TERMINATING CONTRACT ( 1MONTHS NOTICE)

ONE month written notice is required in the event of terminating your lessons/contract. You must email karen@macswimschool.co.za to activate this clause only.

  • We do not accept termination notice via WhatsApp, SMS or over the phone, you have to email karen@macswimschool.co.za only
  • Notice is calculated from the date we received your cancellation email.
  • Notice received before the 15th we will include that month, after the 15th we start counting from the next new month.
  • Lessons cancelled by MAC Swim School will be made up, we do not credit accounts.
  • Lessons missed are considered forfeited.
  • Non-attendance is not a form of notice. (you are still liable for all fees)
  • You are allowed to swim through your notice period, if you choose not to attend fees are still due in full.
  • Non-payment will result in us removing you/your child off our schedule, activate clause & bill your two month notice period.
  • Not being able to find new slot/teacher/do a slot change/class graduation does not waiver your notice in any regard (see above how to terminate your contract with MAC Swim School)

Please note this is not a fixed contract therefore there is no cooling off period (as per CPA) should you sign up and wish to cancel you will be held liable for your two months’ notice/fees.

NOTICE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER OCTOBER

These conditions are NOT negotiable. NAPPY POLICY

All children under the age of THREE, or those who are not fully potty-trained regardless of age must wear a “Huggies Little Swimmer” underneath a tight fitting costume. (cloth nappies or regular nappies, are not acceptable)

A swimmers nappy is not seen as a costume, and swimmers will not be allowed into the pool if the above is not adhered too. Huggies Little Swimmers – can be purchased at any Dischem Store/Clicks.

PLEASE NOTE: Should your child not be wearing the correct attire and an accident does happen in our pool, you will be held liable for any costs of cleaning, treatments and or possible drainage and refilling costs.

 

SWIMMING CAPS

Swimming caps must be worn at every lesson.

 

ARRIVING ON TIME

Please make sure you arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your child’s swimming lesson.
Late arrivals will result in receiving only the remaining time of that lesson. Please have your child dressed in his/her costume with swimming cap & goggles on – ready to swim.

 

MAKE-UP POLICY
We are allowing for one makeup lesson a month, because we know children get sick and life gets busy sometimes, if your child is not going to attend a lesson for any reason you do need to submit it via the Please take note of the following to qualify for a make-up:

  • ONE makeup lesson a month, provided the absenteeism is submitted BEFORE the swim lesson. – Make up lessons are available solely on class availability.
  • Unfortunately makeup are not guaranteed.
  • Make up lesson cannot be exchanged for credit.
  • Missed makeups cannot be rescheduled.
  • You cannot go back and submit old absenteeism. (those are forfeited)
  • No make-up lessons are owed for days we are closed as per our yearly set MAC Swim School Calendar, including Public Holidays, please refer to the fee policy for more information.
  • Make up lessons cannot be carried over. EG: If you do not need a make up for Jan you cannot carry it over and claim 2 make ups in Feb.

PHOTO & VIDEO POLICY

Photos and/or videos may be taken occasionally for advertising, publicity, social media, the website, and/or training purposes. – By agreeing to this policy the parent and or guardian is agreeing to allow the use of photos and/or videos for the above purposes by MAC Swim School
– Parents have the right to refuse this agreement to their child being photographed/videoed, PLEASE TICK THIS BOX ON REGISTRATION

 

LIGHTNING POLICY

We DO NOT teach when there is lightning. Lightning is an extremely dangerous occurrence, especially when around water.

We have the LIGHTNING ALARM APP and when lightning strikes within 20km away from us we get out of the pool and pool area from half an hour after every strike.

We advise you to please download the LIGHTNING ALARM APP from the Apple Store or Android Store and type in area RANDHART. If you suspect that there will be no swimming die to lightning and you have checked the lightning APP we advise you to come to swimming or not at your OWN discretion.

We will make up one (1) lesson missed for lightning at the teacher’s convenience as lightning is an act of god and is out of our control.

 

POPI ACT POLICY

The Protection of Personal Information Act, (Act 4 of 2013) (POPIA) gives effect to the constitutional right to privacy, regulates the manner in which personal information may be processed, and provides rights and remedies to protect personal information.

MAC Swim School fully complies with this act.

INDEMNITY

I (the parent/guardian) waive any claim that may arise as a result either directly or indirectly from attending swimming lessons at MAC Swim School
I further indemnify the owners of MAC Swim School or any teacher or employee employed by MAC Swim School in the event of any accident, bodily injury, contracting COVID-19 or theft that may arise before, during or after any lesson.

I understand this is a legal and binding document from date of signature and will be held liable for all monies owed from the date below. I have also read and understood the conditions above and agree to abide by all of them, when joining MAC Swim School.
